KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the areas of Transport, Despatch and
           Quality Control
  • Ensure all fleet audits and legal standards
           are met and exceeded to ensure complete compliance and best practice
  • Effectively control the vehicle operator’s
           licenses, comply with Road Traffic Act and maintain vehicle log books
  • Ensure all Drivers Hours meet Company and
           Legal requirements
  • Plan daily routes to ensure the efficient and
           cost-effective operation and utilization of transport schedules
  • Ensure all vehicles are inspected and
           maintained on time, to Company and Legal Requirements
  • Ensure all vehicle Tachograph information is
           downloaded from the vehicle in a timely manner to meet Company requirements
  • Ownership of fuel cards and trackers for all the
           Group
  • Recruit team members, when required
  • Advise and assist, where possible, on H&S
           matters, utilising NEBOSH qualification

QUALIFICATIONS /
EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CARRY OUT THE ROLE:

  • CPC National (minimum requirement)
  • Drive and passion to deliver on time
  • Understanding of cost drivers in logistics
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of legislation
  • Must have a flexible approach to working
           hours during the week, Saturday working may be required
  • Commercially astute with excellent
           negotiation skills
  • Competent user of MS packages e.g. Outlook,
           Excel, Word

KEY OBJECTIVES:

  • Identify and implement transportation cost
           efficiencies
  • Introduce relevant Key Performance Indicators
           (KPIs)
  • Lead a program of continuous development for
           the teams through regular reviews and identifying training needs
  • Fully investigate accidents and personal
           injuries to identify root causes
  • Ensure ISO 90001 quality system and ISO 14001
           environmental issues are kept up to date
